“I have longed a long time

for goodness -

in the small moments

and in the big chapters

of my life.

And today, I awoke

and realized

that it is here now -

touching me with its sunlight,

caressing my heart

with its gentle laughter.

And I can feel how

the daughter, the wife

and the girl I used to be

all bow

to this woman

who now lives their dream,

and they weep with joy

for the grace

of this goodness

and the sweetness

that only long weary longing

followed by

great sweeping change

can offer to a heart

that has hoped and wondered

for a long time.”
